Position Summary
The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is currently accepting applications for a faculty position in the Department of Psychology as Neuropsychologist (Academic Rank DOQ). Minimum requirements are a doctoral degree in Clinical, School, or Counseling Psychology with training and experience in neuropsychological assessment and research. Applicant must have Nebraska licensure (or license eligible) while board certification (ABPP) is also valued. Candidates with a clinical internship from APA/CPA-accredited programs in psychology are preferred.

This faculty position would be tasked with developing a program around neuropsychological services for children and adolescents including 1) neuropsychological assessment and diagnostics, 2) clinical training in neuropsychology for predoctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows, and 3) a program of clinical research. In addition, this position would be tasked with developing a program that uses practice extenders or psychometrists to provide direct testing, reserving the licensed psychologist for diagnostics and interpretation, training, and research.

Clinical referrals come from schools, physicians, and community agencies throughout the region. Typical presenting concerns include brain tumor and treatment, TBI/concussion, epilepsy and other seizure disorders, and genetic and other developmental disorders. Institute-based coordination of clinical care and interdisciplinary research is provided.

About MMI Psychology:
The department is a collegial group of clinical educators and clinical researchers who seek to incorporate training and research activities into clinical service delivery within a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary center. MMI recently moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and has prioritized expansion of innovative clinical and educational programs serving those with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral disabilities.

All department faculty play an important role in education and provide clinical supervision in a large, well-funded internship program within the APA accredited Nebraska Internship Consortium and in a growing postdoctoral fellowship program. The Psychology department is also home to the Mid-America Mental Health Technology Transfer Center, which is a federally funded collaborative network that supports resource development and dissemination, training and technical assistance, and workforce development to the mental health field. The department is decidedly a behavioral program by orientation, but are open to applications of diverse, yet aligned theoretical orientations. Some department faculty teach courses in the ABA Masters degree program which prepares graduates for licensure as a mental health practitioner and also certification as a BCBA. Faculty members are encouraged to develop and participate in clinical research. Specific areas of research interest are less important than fit within our mission.

Required Qualifications
PhD in Clinical, School or Counseling Psychology.
Nebraska licensure (or license eligible).
