Grid Operational Technology Engineer

OPPDs Operational Technology Division is looking for a Grid Operational Technology Engineer who is technically versatile and possesses critical thinking abilities to assist in the management of OPPDs OT network Infrastructure. Grid OT shall be responsible for the engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and security of OPPDs Grid OT Network Infrastructure. 

The mission of Grid Operational Technology (Grid OT) within the Enterprise Operational Technology division is to provide design, execution, maintenance, and adherence to NERC CIP regulatory requirements for Operational Technology related to transmission and distribution of electricity throughout OPPDs footprint.  The environments directly supported by Grid OT relate to OPPDs Energy Management System, Physical Access Control System, and OPPDs Substation OT network. 

  • Possess working knowledge of current, commercially available, switches and firewalls. 
  • Effectively work with internal business partners and external entities outside of OPPDs Enterprise Operational Technologies division, on strategic planning and engineering analysis of our various network infrastructures. 
  • Collaborate with project managers and support business partners to provide critical work and ensure quality service to our customers with varying technical experience. 
  • Assess vulnerabilities, maintain knowledge of industry frameworks, and improve security posture on Grid OT Networks while adhering to NERC CIP regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Four (4) years of proven relevant work experience, preferably supporting ICS/SCADA systems or OT networks; or a Bachelors degree in relevant technical or engineering discipline and two (2) years of relevant work experience. Special projects, committee work, intern work or unique technical sills may be considered for experience requirements
  • A fundamental knowledge of system administration, networking, and/or virtualization principles, particularly with Windows, Linux/Unix, and Cis
  • Proficient knowledge in one or more of the following OT tracks: network infrastructure, SCADA/DCS HMI systems, data/communication systems, management systems, and security/compliance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels
  • Excellent customer service and ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with moderate supervision. Requires exceptional organizational skills, problem solving skills, and flexibility in changing priorities.

Desired:

  • NERC CIP compliance experience
  • Experience, education or certification in relevant software applications, networking, or ICS cyber security (e.g. SANS, ISACA, CompTIA, etc.) such as CISSP certification
  • Fundamental knowledge of NIST standards and other security frameworks
  •  Fundamental knowledge of electric utility energy production and energy delivery systems

Salary Grade: S4

Minimum: $86,386

Maximum: $129,578
