POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training and Development Specialist will support organizational learning and development training programs by creating, developing, delivering, and conducting training and development content to improve individual and organizational performance. This role is responsible for partnering with subject matter experts (SMEâ??s) to create content that will help employees develop job-specific skills on key concepts, processes, and tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Design and develop content and support materials intended to educate, teach, or train employees using adult learning theory best practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders, SMEâ??s, and managers to determine learning needs and translate into effective learning solutions.
  • Create unique learning solutions using multiple delivery modes (instructor-led, virtual, online, video, etc.) to address diverse learning needs.
  • Facilitate and deliver effective in-person or virtual learning events.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives that will ensure programs are best in class.
  • Conduct reviews, update, and/or enhance training materials to ensure learning outcomes are met.
  • Track and analyze training metrics including employee utilization and participation data, surveys and focus group data.
  • Develop and/or maintain knowledge of the latest industry tools and processes.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with organizational change initiatives.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in human resources, adult education, training and development, or another related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in learning and development, organizational development, instructional design, human resources, or other relevant experience, if degreed. Minimum of 7 years of experience in learning and development, organizational development, instructional design, human resources, or other relevant experience, if non-degreed. Experience providing learning programs to employees at all organizational levels is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with design, development and delivery of technical and soft skill training.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Collaborative.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail.
  • High level of technical acumen with an ability to master software solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in manufacturing organizations.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional walking in a manufacturing environment, including navigating stairs. Periodic travel to attend training or provide support at other company locations. Must maintain a valid driverâ??s license.
  • Occasional time spent working a flexible schedule.
