The Alumni/Community Relations Coordinator is: (1) responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects designed to identify, engage and develop Iowa Western alumni, and (2) responsible for the coordination of community events and activities and the promotion of Iowa Western as a valued community partner.
â?¢ Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the Institute's strategic plan in collaboration with colleagues within the Office of Institutional Advancement and throughout the College.
â?¢ Ensure an accurate and complete alumni database.
â?¢ Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni and through regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, social media and print publications.
â?¢ Work together with marketing staff to coordinate alumni communication plans.
â?¢ Assist and collaborate with other departments on activities that have alumni or community components.
â?¢ Serve as the primary Iowa Western contact for external community events/activities.
â?¢ Lead the Iowa Western VIP (volunteer) Group.
â?¢ Organize and schedule Iowa Western sponsorships of community organizations and/or events.
â?¢ Represent Iowa Western for elect community organizations.
â?¢ Associates degree, plus 2 years of experience in an applicable role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
â?¢ Strong project management skills
â?¢ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
â?¢ Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
â?¢ Excellent customer service skills required
â?¢ Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
â?¢ Ability to read, write and speak English fluently â?¢ Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people â?¢ Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team
â?¢ Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
â?¢ Positive attitude
â?¢ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times â?¢ Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision â?¢ Regular, prompt & reliable attendance. Availability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.
