SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations and staff of the Marketing Department including Database, Advertising, Social, Promotions, Events, and Entertainment. The incumbent will oversee the development, implementation and execution of strategic marketing plans, activities and functions ensuring optimum guest satisfaction and repeat visits within specified budgetary parameters. Will also be responsible for other marketing initiatives as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

    • Responsible for managing the overall operations of the department including Database, Advertising, Promotions, Social, and Events/Entertainment to include slot tournaments, brand promotions and VIP Events.
    • Creates strategic plans, execution plans and promotions calendar.
    • Manages oversight of media used to communicate current and upcoming promotional efforts for the guests, team members, and regulatory agencies.
    • Responsible for managing and overseeing the marketing efforts and communication efforts for the company with a consistent and appropriate voice.
    • Responsible for assessing, anticipating, and reacting to the competitive marketplace regarding marketing strategies, programs, campaigns, and promotions.
    • Coordinates with Shared Services to ensure creative requests are opened in a timely manner and all information provided is correct.
    • Ensure social media and web is monitored for opportunities to engage in active and relevant conversations about the property.
    • Expertise with all company Brand programs and systems and provides input to improve Brand direct marketing efforts.
    • Ensures coordination with IT to ensure all resources are available to run programs.
    • Develops, implements, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives in defined area.
    • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and providing recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for supervising and managing staff in the following areas of the Marketing Department: Advertising, Promotions, Special Events/Entertainment, and Social Media.
  • Create effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Identifies and implements training and development needs of staff.
  • Sets team member performance goals and ensure they are met. Provides feedback and coaching.
  • Requires customer service standards are followed by department team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Ensures team member compliance with legal and company policies and procedures.
BRING US YOUR BEST.:
  • Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Marketing, Finance, or related field; five (5) years of progressively more challenging leadership roles in Marketing or Operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in multiple communication channels including direct mail, e-mail, and social media required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Proven managerial and critical thinking skills required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    - Must have exceptional problem-solving, analytical, customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
  • Strong client interface and presentation skills preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
