Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven OEM National Sales Account Manager to lead and grow our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) relationship within the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry. This individual will be responsible for managing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and serving as the primary liaison between our company and OEM partners. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of OEM processes, the commercial vehicle space, and the unique demands of electronic systems for buses (transit, school, shuttle, and motorcoach).

 

OEM Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison and trusted advisor to assign OEM accounts
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers across engineering, purchasing, and executive levels
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with OEM partners to evaluate performance, update projections, and align growth strategies

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Own and drive revenue growth with new and existing OEMs
  • Develop and execute account plans that align with REI’s strategic objectives
  • Proactively identify and upselling new product integration opportunities

Program Management Collaboration

  • Lead complex project discussions, from RFQ to product delivery, in partnership with engineering, product development, and operations
  • Respond to bid requests and develop pricing proposals that meet margin and volume objectives.
  • Navigate long sales cycles typical of vehicle platforms, managing program timelines, deliverables, and communications

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle manufacturing trends, competitor offerings, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Provide monthly forecasting, pipeline management, and KPI reporting to sales leadership
  • Contribute insights to shape REI’s product roadmap and go-to-market strategy
  • Ability to gain familiarity with competitor products & pricing
  • Other duties assigned as necessary

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate and present at an executive level
  • Highly organized and self-directed; excels in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • General understanding of international rules of trade terms

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience accepted
  • Experience: 5+ years of OEM account management or sales experience in commercial vehicles, electronics, or related manufacturing sectors
  • Proven success managing strategic accounts in a technical sales environment
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with vehicle-mounted electronics, fleet technology, or integrated systems (bus industry preferred)
  • Ability to translate complex technical features into customer value propositions.
  • Understanding component systems used in buses
  • Background in selling to bus OEMs, including companies focused on electric or alternative fuel platforms
  • Understanding of industry standards in public transit and commercial vehicle compliance
  • Background in selling to bus OEMs, including companies focused on electric or alternative fuel platforms preferred
  • Experience with public procurement processes or specification-based sales preferred
  • Understanding of industry standards in public transit and commercial vehicle compliance preferred
  • 2 years of mobile video surveillance sales preferred
